March for Life Post-Roe: Where Do We Go From Here?
OCA President Chris Long and Mark Harrington, Director of Created Equal discuss the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. This march will be different from past years, as the participants will not be marching to the U.S. Supreme Court, but to the U.S. Capitol to lobby for federal pro-life legislation. The life movement will now face new challenges back in the states, including here in Ohio, as Planned Parenthood and NARAL have announced their intention to go on the ballot in Ohio with a constitutional amendment, pushing abortion to the ninth month of pregnancy. Currently, Ohio has a Heartbeat Law that prohibits abortion when a heartbeat is detected. A lawsuit by those supporting abortion was filed in Hamilton County against the Heartbeat Law late last year, and a municipal judge in Hamilton County placed an injunction on the law. State Attorney General Dave Yost has appealed the case to the Ohio Supreme Court. It is expected that the Heartbeat Law will be upheld in the State Supreme Court. The next line of defense will be to defeat any ballot measure that Planned Parenthood and Naral place on the Ohio ballot in November 2023 or November 2024. Statement from the Ohio Christian Alliance on the Ohio House Election of Speaker Rep. Jason Stephens

Derek Merrin for Speaker of the Ohio House. Twenty-two Republicans who pledged their support for Derek Merrin in December changed their votes on Tuesday and voted for Jason Stephens, joining the entire Democratic caucus. Derek Merrin lost the vote by a measure of 43-54.
The Republican Caucus was shocked by the betrayal of the twenty-two Republicans who joined the Democrats to elect Jason Stephens as speaker. This is truly now a house divided... Click here for the full Statement from the OCA
