Redistricting maps are in limbo with the court's rejection. An election crisis is looming in Ohio
On Monday, in a 4-3 decision, the Ohio Supreme Court again rejected the Redistricting Commission's approved maps for the Ohio House and Ohio Senate. Justice Maureen O'Connor joined the Democrats on the bench who have now with their decision thrown the mid-term elections into chaos. Justices Pat DeWine, Sharon Kennedy, and Pat Fisher wrote dissenting opinions. Now, Speaker of the House Bob Cupp and Senate President Matt Huffman are in a quandary as to what to do. On this week's News in Focus, we explain what has happened up until now and where all this might be heading. It is apparent at this point that a constitutional crisis is unfolding in Ohio. Here are some of the questions that voters are asking, "What district will I be voting in? Will there be a May 3rd Primary or not? Will there be two Primaries, as Senate President Huffman suggested? " No one seems to know for sure. There are more questions than answers. If you haven't been paying attention up till now, this program will help you to understand what has happened and why. Tune in and tell a friend.
