Armed Forces Day is for those who are actively serving and for reservists. May 21st

Veterans Day is when we remember and honor those who served in the armed forces. November 11th

Memorial Day is for those who gave their lives for the cause of Freedom. Last Monday of May (this year May 30th)

In this special program, we honor those who paid the ultimate price for the cause of freedom. We also receive an update from Senator Rob Portman and Congressman Bill Johnson on the D-Day Prayer Project. Construction is to begin in July, with a dedication sometime in November, possibly Veterans Day.

Rick Santorum is universally recognized as a steadfast leader and defender of the first principles upon which our nation was founded. He is currently a Senior Political Consultant for Newsmax and Senior Advisor for the Convention of States project.

Rick was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1990 at the age of 32, defeating a seven-term incumbent.  From 1995 through 2007, Rick served in the United States Senate. He also was a Presidential candidate in 2012 and in 2016.

In the U.S. Senate, he authored legislation that outlawed the heinous procedure known as Partial-Birth Abortion and championed the successful fight to pass the “Born Alive Infant Protection Act,” and the “Unborn Victims of Violence Act.”

In 2014, Rick wrote the book “Blue Collar Conservatives”.  President Trump stated that he patterned his campaign after the principles he read in Rick’s book.

Of all his accomplishments, Rick is most proud of his role as a husband and father. Rick and his wife Karen are the parents of seven wonderful children.

With just three weeks to the May 3rd Primary Election, News in Focus has extended an invitation to four of the Primary candidates running for the U.S. Senate. This week, we interview Jane Timken - former ORP Chairwoman and attorney.

We also interview J.D. Vance - author, veteran, and businessman. The candidates are asked questions about the 40-yr-high inflation rate that has now taken the country in every sector, and how it is affecting everyday Ohioans at the pump, grocery store, and their cost of living. Part 1   Auditor Keith Faber explains the process of map drawing on the redistricting commission. Auditor Faber serves as one of the commissioners on the newly formed seven-member Ohio Redistricting Commission redrawing Ohio's legislative maps. The third version of the Congressional maps will be the maps for the 2022 cycle, as the League of Women Voters has acknowledged that their lawsuit is aiming at the 2024 Election. The fourth version of the Ohio House and Senate maps that was just passed by the Redistricting Commission last week has again been challenged in a lawsuit by Eric Holder's group. The battle continues over Ohio's redistrict redraw, but the advantage has undoubtedly swung in the Republicans' favor, as the political left is running out of gas. However, the "sue till they're blue" strategy by Eric Holder and Barack Obama has been successful in one thing - creating chaos in the red states of Ohio, North Carolina, and Florida. 

Part 2    Robert Sprague is Ohio's Treasurer, and he is conducting a listening tour with citizens and small business groups across Ohio, asking for their input on the impact that inflation is having on their everyday lives and businesses. Ohio farmers are preparing to plant this year's crop and are more than challenged with the accelerated cost of fertilizer, seed, and equipment. Treasurer Sprague has introduced a program "Ohio Gains" and explains how it could bring some financial relief to farmers and others to help beat back inflationary challenges.
