Ohio Heartbeat Bill Receives Proponent Testimony in Ohio Senate Health Committee
S.B. 23, sponsored by Senator Kristina Roegner of Ohio's 27th District, received proponent testimony in the Senate Health Committee, chaired by Senator Dave Burke. OCA sponsored expert witness Dr. Cathi Aultman, Associate Scholar of the Lozier Institute, and board-certified OB/GYN and fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Her testimony was compelling as a former abortionist who is now solidly pro-life. Covington Catholic High School Investigation Update OCA Pres Chris Long on Bob Frantz Authority.
The investigation into the dangerous threats that were levied against the students and the Christian high school is continuing. OCA President Chris Long reported that Kentucky County Prosecutor Rob Sanders was continuing the investigation into the serious threats that came into the school and were made against the students. Prosecutor Sanders stated that charges will be filed. In another update, Ohio Christian Alliance received a letter from the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. from the Chief of the Civil Rights Division, indicating they were in receipt of the letter that was signed by 20 pro-life, pro-family, religious liberty organizations calling for the FBI and Justice Department to investigate the serious threats that were made against the students and their Christian high school.

Covington Catholic High School Students Receive Support From the Pro-Life Community
Meg Wittman, Director of Cincinnati Right to Life, and Mark Harrington, Director of Created Equal, joined OCA President Chris Long in a press conference in Cincinnati at Fountain Square on Tuesday to call for the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department Civil Rights Division to investigate the serious threats that were levied against the Christian school and its students. The pro-life battle is heating up with the draconian no-holds-barred abortion bill signed into law by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and the comments by the Virginia Governor Ralph Northam when he indicated he would support a bill that would allow for infanticide of children born alive. Part 1 Liberty Counsel Chairman Matt Staver joins OCA President Chris Long to discuss the Covington Catholic High School students and the media and social media hate campaign that was generated against after they attended the March for Life in Washington, D.C.
The Ohio Christian Alliance, with a coalition of religious, family, and legal advocacy organizations, called for the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department to investigate the dangerous threats that were made against the Covington Catholic Christian School students. This week, the school was closed by officials and local law enforcement due to security concerns.
Part 2 Also this past week, Karen Pence, wife of Vice-President Mike Pence, was ridiculed and targeted by LGBTQ activists simply because she was teaching at a Christian school that upholds Biblical values on human sexuality. The Ten Commandments Under Attack This Time By A Christian Pastor
Charlie Wysong, President of the American Rights Coalition, has distributed tens of thousands of copies of the Ten Commandments in homes, businesses, and seats of government. He discusses the recent controversial statements by Andy Stanley that Christians need to "unhitch" from the Ten Commandments and the Old Testament. Charlie discusses how the Ten Commandments were center in his home in the rearing of his fifteen children and the blessing that it bestowed upon the family when they put God and His law in the center of their home. The Ohio Christian Alliance will present members of the Ohio General Assembly with framed copies of the Ten Commandments for hanging in their offices in the coming weeks. The President addressed the crisis of illegal immigration flooding over the U.S. southern border, human trafficking, Mexican drug cartels, gangs, and terrorist incursions that have escalated in recent years. Congressman Bill Johnson of Ohio's 6th District discusses what it will mean to be in the minority in the 116th Congress that will be sworn in on January 3rd, as the Democrats and Nancy Pelosi take the gavel. After eight years of Republicans controlling the House of Representatives, Republicans will now have to play defense against a socialist-leftist agenda that will be pushed by Nancy Pelosi and the hard Left of the Democratic Party.
Part 2 - Greg Lawson, Senior Research Fellow of Buckeye Institute lays out the challenges that Governor-Elect Mike DeWine and his administration will face in 2019. Infrastructure capital is gone that was created with the lease of the Ohio Turnpike. Talk of an increase in the Ohio gas tax will be on the table in the new General Assembly. Other economic challenges with the close of coal-fired generating plants on the Ohio River and the scheduled closing of two of Ohio's nuclear power plants will mean tens of thousands of jobs lost, not to mention the possible closure of the Lordstown auto plant. The new administration will face serious challenges with these economic realities in the next few years that will dramatically affect Ohio's economy.
